Renaissance Threads: A Tapestry of Silver Linings

  • MARN ART + CULTURE HUB 191 North Broadway Milwaukee, WI, 53202 United States (map)

In honor of 414 Day, MARN and Harmonic Harvest are pleased to present, “Renaissance Threads: A Tapestry of Silver Linings”, on Sunday, April 14th from 11am - 4pm at the MARN ART + CULTURE HUB with a performance by Sulestial!

Renaissance Threads: A Tapestry of Silver Linings is a workshop that is designed to inspire our community to seek out the silver linings in life, express them through art and storytelling on fabric, and ultimately empower individuals to become a silver lining themselves. As individuals create their mark on this collective piece, we will promote compassion, nonjudgmental attitudes, and an understanding of diverse worldviews.

By weaving together each silver lining story, we will create a tapestry of unity - a tangible representation of our ability to come together as a community. We will launch this workshop on 414 Day (Milwaukee day) at 4 Harmonic Hubs.

  • MARN (191 N Broadway)

  • Mitchell Street Arts (710 W Historic Mitchell Street)

  • Carmen Playfield x Milwaukee Recreation  (730 W Carmen Ave)

  • La Gente Art (2478 N Murray Ave)

414 Milwaukee will drive hub to hub, showing each location and what is created. Harmonic Harvest will be recording a special for their docuseries ‘Weaving Silver Linings’ and announcing their next round of grant recipients.

At Night celebrate with the lighting the HOAN bridge where the lights will be programmed to dance to “Look for the Silver Linings” re-recorded by Milwaukee Jazz Institute!  You will also be able to hear the recording on 88.9FM Radio Milwaukee at dusk. TUNE IN! (TBD)

La Gente Art Gallery “Located on Milwaukee's Upper East Side, we are an art gallery, content lab studio, and event space. We believe the art world should be more accessible and hope to bring a warm and welcoming space to artists & art lovers from all walks of life."

Sulestial, originally from a small town out of Milwaukee, moved to Chicago to better his music education until the end of 2021 when he returned to MKE after his midwest tour to continue pursuing his music career. Now he is fresh off his second national tour and has brought electronic-funk to the midwest and beyond. With 2 EPs and over 18 singles released that span across many genres, it's hard to predict what comes next, just that it will be done with funk and love, and always something you can dance to, so bring your dancing shoes, cheers Milwaukee!
