MARN was pleased to present their 2022 Annual MARN Members Exhibition, “Catch the 22”, from January 20 to March 20, 2022 within the MARN ART + CULTURE HUB. “Catch the 22” showcased the thriving studio practices of over 100 visual art CREATIVE STUDENT, CREATIVE, and CREATIVE BUSINESS members located in Southeast Wisconsin.

The exhibition title, “Catch the 22”, was derived from the term “catch-22”, a paradoxical situation from which an individual cannot escape because of contradictory rules or limitations. The term was coined by Joseph Heller in his 1961 novel “Catch-22”. However, the term is slightly altered replacing the ‘dash’ with ‘the’ and in turn, implying a strife toward resolve.

This exhibition featured over 100 works, with mediums encompassing video, photography, sculpture, painting, mosaic, fibers, mixed media and more. Themes and concepts included voter oppression, paradox, unexpected outcomes, push and pull, duality, absurdity, and the strife toward capturing time.

MARN was overjoyed to sell 21 works within this exhibition!

During the exhibition, MARN hosted the following exhibition focused events:
