Olivia is an artist and cook who studied German and sculpture at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Her work challenges the gendered dichotomy of fine art vs craft. Growing up, Olivia’s interest in art was encouraged by her grandmother who pushed Olivia to bake and view baking as an act of creative expression. Her current work explores consumption, creation, and identity.

She creates or alters everyday objects such as clothes, textile, and food, which are often overlooked as art because they simply exist to serve a need. Through working with these mediums, they allow her art to be more accessible to others by intertwining art with the everyday. One of her current projects is called ‘too much’ (ig @toomuchmke), a baking and clothing pop-up, where she alters vintage clothing with linocut prints and bakes pastries inspired by the sculptural cakes she made with her grandmother.
