My name is Setirha Stone and I am a senior at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design majoring in New Studio Practice. My main focus is talking about uncomfortable topics through art and educating one another on the Black experience and trauma while incorporating nostalgic and memorable aspects in my art that creates emotion and recreates moments. I am a multi-disciplinary artist currently experimenting in color theory and abstraction with sound and digital visualizers. My favorite medium is mix digital media, because it gives me access to manipulate my work into many different forms. In my work, I throw in hidden messages to keep people engaged while also exploring systemic racism in the Black/African American community. My work has provided me a personal safe space to explore my creative ability while helping me grow in other areas.
