If you’re stopping by the Third Ward Art Festival this Labor Day weekend, Sept 2nd-3rd, come by and see our new exhibition “gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix,” an exhibition with the Spring accelerator artist cohort. With a focus on supporting creative professionals who have been traditionally underfunded, the gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix program aims to support the business side of these creative practices.
In addition to the exhibition, the MARN ART + CULTURE HUB will be selling handmade items from our member artists such as jewelry, kitchenware, and original artworks. The COFFEE + WINE CAFÉ will be open as well for drinks.
About the Third Ward Art Festival
Spend Labor Day weekend at the Third Ward Art Festival in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! Free and open to the public, the 11th Annual Third Ward Art Festival, in partnership with the Historic Third Ward Association, will showcase the work of 150 juried artists from around the country in a variety of mediums including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, mixed media, paintings, drawings, photography, and more! In addition to the incredible artwork available for purchase, attendees will be able to interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats, and can even take part in “Start to Paint” on site painting classes! Fun for the entire family, the festival features an interactive kid’s art tent and face painting, as well as the brand new “Kids Art Stops,” where artists invite children to stop at their booth to learn more about the art-making process. Live music on two stages, great food and drink options from neighboring restaurants, and festival food vendors add to the fun vibe!
The Historic Third Ward Association will also be selling beer and sangria. With an array of nearby cafes, pubs, theaters, galleries, and unique shops surrounding the festival, guests are sure to enjoy an entertaining weekend full of art and culture! The fest is wheelchair and stroller accessible, and there is plenty of nearby parking. Dogs are welcome if they are leashed and friendly. Attendees are invited to bring their gently used art to the festival where it will be donated to the Chicago Furniture Bank, a nonprofit that distributes furnishings and art to those leaving shelters and moving into permanent housing. Several artists from this show are participating in Amdur Productions’ Green Ribbon Project. Artists place a green ribbon on a piece of art in their booth, and if the piece is sold, 10% of the sale will be donated to Amdur’s charitable partner, which this year is the Chicago Furniture Bank.
